Izzy Briske

This is a new character of mine, Izzy Briske.

Izzy Briske is a hard-working, quick-on-his-feet employee at Chuck's Grounds, one of the more reputable burger joints in the city. He's in the middle of moving from one house on the edge of the county to an apartment that's more urban. The only problem is that he had to get the job to pay for the apartment, and hardly ever gets a break, so he isn't able to get much actual “moving” done. What's worse, he's in the middle of taking college classes while he has his scholarships.

Izzy was raised more in the country than anywhere else, but maintained a more average personality. He didn't seem to adopt any rural traits, other than being thin and agile. He helped his parents around the farm as much as he could, which helped him get plenty of exercise. On top of working on the farm, he managed to run to the stores in-town, buy and carry the groceries, and run back to the house, all without breaking a single sweat. In his spare time, he would sketch out devices he think would help the world, like the “Cornspector 1000” and “Hay Bailer Mach IV”. They seemed to work on paper, but with his lack of resources, he wasn't able to actually create a working model of any of them.

One of Izzy's biggest flaws is that his mind runs faster than he can talk, so he often stumbles over his words. It's cost him many potential “dates”, as well as a handful of job offers. He doesn't prefer to do much talking, which is why he prefers to work on the back line, preparing the food, rather than serving it. Being so isolated makes it hard for him to focus, since he loves to talk to strangers. Because of this affinity, he's troubled with having to deal with people getting confused with his words.

He has, so far, kept his grades up and managed to get a slight pay raise. His only real group of friends are his colleagues from his high school, two of which are Jenna and Tyler Johnson. He has a handful of other friends, though he isn't able to keep in touch with them too much.

Ever since Izzy got his job, he's been saving up his pay and was able to buy a new computer for his classes, and for his new designs he hopes to produce. He's already made a best-selling item that's been attempted and recalled by dozens of wanna-be manufacturers. Izzy is the only successful engineer of the “Aero-blade”, a hovering board similar to a skateboard. The Aero-blade, however, can hover at multiple levels of altitude, providing much easier traveling for consumers. He's currently working on a prototype portable computer design, codenamed “Project: CUBE”. He's had over a dozen predecessors to his current model, but none have worked as successfully as the one he's settled with for the time being.

Izzy hopes to get enough money to pass through college and get a degree in computer science, as well as business and marketing. His true passion lies within design and manufacturing, but he has to make do with his job as a patty flipping, table waiting burger boy.
